There was a time when a weary traveler could dream away at the marvellous ad posters for illustrious train routes: Ostend-Vienna, Paris-Constantinople, Moscow-Vladivostok... Those days are over. Long distance trains gave way to airplanes and the beautifully designed posters disappeared from the street scene.

Enter Back on Track Belgium, the Belgian branch of a European collective that wants to improve international rail traffic and is working for the return of night trains. Together with Grafik, they want to give their comeback a boost. So they organised a drawing competition: to celebrate the night train, to highlight the ecological and human advantages of train travel, and to design posters as beautiful as ever. The entire month of December, you can admire the best entries of the poster competition in the windows of Muntpunt.
